Bernhard feels that the 'Toxic' singer plays a very important role in setting a cultural milestone of the times, and at this point of time when the American pop star is struggling hard to come out of her blues, Bernhard feels very compassionate towards her.

"I've been doing pieces on Britney for quite a while now, and I find her kind of a touchstone in culture, and I have a great deal of empathy for her," Contactmusic quoted Bernhard, as saying.She said that Britney is not completely responsible for her erratic behavior, but its her parents fault who forced her into singing at a very early age resulting in her breakdown.

"I think she was basically co-opted by her parents at a very young age, forced into this business. . And it's not completely her fault that she's flipping out," she said.
