In a shocking twist of events, no one was sent home on American Idol last night during the second night of Idol Gives Back, the show's star-studded fund-raiser.

The fund-raiser to benefit poverty-stricken youth in America and Africa kicked off Tuesday night, and has raised more than $30 million, host Ryan Seacrest said last night.

Per the norm, Idol fans were asked to vote for their favorite contestant after each performed a song with the theme of "life anthems" on Tuesday night.

But during the four-hour voting period - in which two voting lines were available for each of the six remaining contestants - the popular show's corporate sponsors pledged to give a 10-cent donation for the first 50 million votes.

Though more than 70 million votes were tallied after Tuesday's show, no one was sent home because fans were asked to vote for their favorites, and the show's producers wanted to make sure they all were still in the competition.

Seacrest said last night's vote totals will be added to next week's vote totals, and the bottom two vote-getters will be sent home together during next Wednesday's show.

Celebrities were everywhere on last night's two-hour show, which included guest appearances and videos from Jack Black, Hugh Grant, U2's Bono, Ben Stiller, and even The Simpsons.

Cameras went back and forth between the Idol stage and the Walt Disney Concert Hall, where comedian and TV star Ellen DeGeneres introduced the musical guests.

Audience members enjoyed performances from Celine Dion; Kelly Clarkson; Earth, Wind & Fire; Il Divo; Josh Groban with the African Children's Choir; Rascal Flatts; Carrie Underwood, and Annie Lennox.
