Programming leading up to Sport Relief Saturday on July 15 will feature TV shows including celebrity-showjumping programme Only Fools On Horses and a two-part documentary which follows a celebrity cricket team in India.

In the cricket documentary, DJ Chris Evans is reduced to tears when he visits a rubbish dump in India in which young children are making their living.

Sport Relief is keeping secret the name of the celebrity who has signed up for Strictly Come Pole Dancing and is looking for another big name for them to compete against.

Highlights on the night will also include a special from the cast of Footballers Wives, a star-studded Question Of Sport Relief featuring Zara Phillips and Nancy Dell'Olio, Peter Kay Live from the Phoenix Club and All Star Boxing.

Footballers Wives star Zoe Lucker said she hoped the show's producers would persuade the Beckhams, Wayne Rooney and his fiancee Coleen McLoughlin, and Sir Elton John and David Furnish to appear.

Celebrities, politicians and the public are urged to run or walk a mile to raise money for the campaign, which helps the poorest people in the UK as well as abroad.

At today's launch, Evans spoke of joining 12 other celebrities in India to play cricket. He said: "I don't really cry ever. I can't remember the last time I did. They were probably tears of joy not sadness.

"A few of us vomited immediately. We were taken to where the smell was coming from, the rubbish dump and a few of the women and children were actually living there. The smell was in our nostrils for two days afterwards.

"It was like hell on earth. I just couldn't believe that these kids were having to rummage around through this rubbish to try to find things that they could sell."

He added: "Only 50 yards away we've got this school funded by local charities. The kids are having this terrible life but they're being so attentive in these classrooms it makes me feel very guilty.
