A touch of class came to Yorkshire soap Emmerdale thanks to a Leeds fashion designer. Anita Massarella created the stunning wedding dress worn by Patsy Kensit as her character ties the knot next week.

"We do day wear and evening wear as well as bridal wear. I have made dresses for Gaynor Barnes from ITV and we did an outfit for Mo Mowlam just before she died.

"When I first started out I was commissioned to design a range of evening wear for Margaret Thatcher which I did. We do designs for celebrities but I can only mention those who give us permission to do so."

"I was told what the storyline was, what they were looking for and I was asked to do a sketch. They then rang saying Patsy Kensit chose our design. What I didn't realise at the time was that they had offered her two Vera Wang dresses but she chose ours instead. It's marvellous for us!"
